To Forget Us
[/color]~ Dreader of blame and deceiver of truth ~
Number/Name:
Michael
Number Placement:
His number used to be located on his upper left arm, but he tore it off long ago. Today, a simple brown patch is the only hint a number was ever there. Number unknown, except to 371.
Gender:
Male
Years since Creation:
He awoke when the genocide of the human race was still in progress.
Date of Creation:
September 7th
Alignment:
The Mark
Height:
7 inches.
Fabric:
Burlap. The shirt he wears is blue cotton.
Metal:
His skeleton consists of mainly aluminum and copper. The three claws that retract into each hand are composed of a thin iron that can be rolled up and flexed out into incredibly deadly blades.
Anomalies:
Severe metal claws (three for each hand). The metals that attach his feet to his frame are twisted and interlaced so that they act as springs, and allow him to travel at great speeds when bunching up the metal and releasing it.
Michael is covered by a variety of scars, which silently whisper stories of the past horrors he committed, and of the innocent souls who inflicted those scars in their struggle to hold onto life.
Accessories:
Michael wears a blue cotton shirt whose collar he sometimes tugs up to hide the lower half of his face. Over his feet and lower legs he has fabricated himself fabric boots, which he wears to conceal the springs in his legs.
Abilities:
Michael is an noteworthy fighter: quick, calculative, and lethal if provoked. He, however, is easily distracted during a fight (especially if those he cares about about are threatened) and is easily pinned and overpowered if caught. He also has an admirable sewing skill developed after so many years of fixing himself after his many battles and confrontations.
Weapon(s):
Michael bears no visible weapon, but his hands contain the deadly presences which were used to rip countless unsuspecting souls from their bodies. Claws composed of a thin iron sit behind his aluminum knuckles.
Appearance:
Personality:
Michael is reserved from most other ragdolls. This is due to many factors: his time spent at the lab during his first days as a doll, the hatred he encountered when seeking forgiveness for his murders, and the dependence he put on his mate for so long. Aside from occasional encounters, Donnie was sheltered from ragdoll culture. Once setting out on his own, he has begun to realize and enjoy the sentiment of freedom. He has begun to fall out of his habits of making up personas to handle certain situations and find out who he truly is.
Behind the mask.
While part of Donnie still loves 371, he has no plans of seeking out his mate or his past life. He hopes to earn himself a place alongside the other residents in The Mark, and a new purpose.
For the first time in a while, he is truly happy.
Other Information/History:
Much of what shapes Michael is his memories. He remembers only the first five years of his human life, which is the explanation behind his sometimes childish and immature tendencies. He awoke in a glass fishtank in a lab with no recollection of who he was, or how he'd gotten there. The only thing he knew for sure was his name: Donnie.
Spending many months as a labrat made him initially scared of anything tall and human. Once the lab was decimated by the machines, however, he managed to gain his own freedom and began his infamous chain of killings that left many innocent dolls dead.
Ragdoll children mature much faster than human children, so after his four years spent on a killing rampage Donnie contained an intellect level similar to an adult, but had only the memories of a 5-year-old child.
Donnie met 371 like he would any of his victims: randomly and with a heavy cloak of disguise draped over himself. 371 had already been aware of Donnie's murderous plights, and the two homicidal killers found that they shared common interests and joined in a fierce, unstoppable force. Donnie only became a traitor when he became mortally wounded and was thus brought to the Factory by 371 for repairs.
Donnie's motives had always been questionable. He had initially only joined in traitor-ship alongside 371 so that he could hold a place of power against his enemies. Following his first and brutal death, however, Donnie's horribly mangled and misshapen soul (leftover from lab experiments) was split in half.
The smaller half became the half that shared the traits of the doll that had been wandering the emptiness before, and was the half brought back to life along with his doll body. The larger half of the soul, which had been buried deep over the years, emerged and was sucked into the talisman for an unknown time before re-gaining his freedom years later. This other part of Donnie's soul would later take the name Don.
Once free from Don, Donnie found himself capable of connecting with other ragdolls. This first connection was made with 371 upon having the machine being the only one to show any sign of care toward his battered and broken form. This connection grew to admiration, adoration, and finally, a deep and unbreakable affection. Another connection was made to 113, a young stitchpunk who insisted that killing was wrong, and that Donnie change his ways. After befriending other dolls such as 49, 71, and Ven, Donnie began to adopt this new outlook on life, even if it went against what he believed from the moment of "birth".
Donnie and 371's bond resulted in the birth of their child, Mikey. A pact made upon Mikey's birth forbade Donnie and 371 to raise their son as a murderer, so the family ended up settling down in a Flower Shop, which was the family's home for quite a long time. Over the course of Mikey's childhood, many ordeals were encountered such as Rhycher's attack on Mikey, Don and his ally Clyde attempting to rip apart the family, and continuous hiding and fleeing from the traitors that now hunted them. In an attempt to remain safe, the family eventually migrated to the Theater, which more or less became a permanent home for quite a while.
During this time, Donnie began to change from a powerful murderer into a more docile spirit. He enjoyed spending time with his son and looking after him while 371 went scavenging for materials with which to feed himself and Mikey who adopted his father's hunger.
Donnie's bond with Don had to be broken by removing a blank part of his soul that had been injected into him by the Fabricator to bring him back to life. While this freed him from Don, it also took away Donnie's ability to have children.
After a while, especially once cooped up in the Theater, the simplicity of his life began to wear down on Donnie. The stress of a family of old foes moving into the Theater as well as the constant fear and entrapment he felt from his situation caused Donnie to become depressed.
He had everything anyone could ever want - a loving family, friends. But he wanted something more.
The discovery that the blank soul that was removed from Donnie now had its own body came as a jarring shock. Donnie became absurdly jealous and fearful that this new soul wanted to replace him, because after being a part of him for so long it loved 371 as a lover, and Mikey as a child. This new soul took the name Nie.
The disappearance of 371 following a violent encounter with Rhycher pushed Donnie over the edge. He became paranoid, doubtful of himself and everyone around him, and more than anything he felt alone. One night when Mikey tried jumping on Donnie to play with him, Donnie was caught off guard and couldn't recognize his son. After harming Mikey, Donnie felt such guilt that he fled the Theater, partly to search for 371, and partly to escape from his own growing sickness.
During his time spent away from the Theater, Donnie was assaulted by a partially altered Feral. The torture he endured from the encounter finally made him snap. For a while after that, Donnie carried around a blanket, calling it his "baby" and living happily buried in his own insanity.
It wasn't long after Donnie was convinced to finally wake up and face what was going on that 371 finally reappeared, however Donnie had changed since 371 had vanished. He knew that living the life he'd lived before was impossible. He still loved 371, but at the same time, he hated him.
Donnie left the Theater with no immediate plans of returning. He was recruited by Sehnd, who brought him to The Mark. Set on learning how to live life again and leaving his past behind him, Donnie eagerly joined. He changed his name to Michael, replaced the bow on his chest with a stitched-up seam, hid the springs in his legs beneath fabric boots, and took to wearing a soft cotton shirt.
