(these wounds are already patched up on her but this happens before she was patched up)986 attempted to get up for the third time but failed once again. She knew it was hopeless to try to get up but to be severely injured in the Emptiness was deadly. 'I can't even move because of my injuries!' she thought miserably. Letting out a painful sigh, 986 flipped onto her back and pitifully dragged herself. Her eyes met to where the fabric was torn, her waist exposed to the point you could see her skeleton! Her left leg was also scratched at the top and her head had a decent gash in it. The worst thing was that 986 lost her right hand! 986 only moved a couple of feet before she stopped moving. As the world faded away, she called out weakly. "Someone...please save....meeee!......"

The light sound of footsteps muffled by dirt could be heard as something came near. The outline of a small stitchpunk became visible in the dusty atmosphere.
28 had recently left the Cathedral so she could travel around and heal injured Anima. There were many medics at the Saviors hideout already; she couldn't do as much as she could there. Still, wandering alone in the Emptiness was frightening. She had already had to run away from a catbeast, and she hoped she wouldn't have to encounter another one.
"Someone, please save me!"
Hearing a faint voice, 28 stopped and looked for the source of the sound. It was coming from her left. Grabbing hold of her bag so it wouldn't fly off, the healer quickly started running towards the sound. She nearly tripped over a body lying on the ground, covered in horrible injuries. This was it, the reason she had started this lonely journey. Kneeling next to it, 28 immediately emptied the contents of the bag, scrambling for a needle and thread. The doll was gray, but she only had black and red thread. Choosing black, she threaded the needle, saying, "Don't worry, I'm here to help you."

Her mind was still buzzing when 986 thought she heard footsteps. However, they sounded very far away. Then, a voice reached her. "Don't worry, I'm here to help you." This did calm her a bit, someone had found her. What's better, they were going to help her. That was her last thougt as 986 faded back into unconciousness, letting out a small sigh of relief...

28 waited until the stitchpunk was completely unconscious to start sewing the rip on her head, which would probably be painful. Wondering what had happened to this poor doll, the medic slid the needle through the gray anima's fabric, slowly pulling the tear shut. She tied off the thread in a knot and began on the slash on her waist. The doll was going to have these scars forever, but 28 made sure that it was unlikely they would reopen.
Finished with all the tears, she sat back and thought for a moment. She dearly hoped she had come in time to save this stitchpunk, who she didn't even know. Putting her equipment back into her bag, there was nothing else 28 could do but wait and see if the doll would wake up. She pulled her legs up to her chest and folded her arms over her knees, closely monitoring her patient's condition.

Slowly, 986 started to fade into the waking world, her right leg twitching slightly. Her optics fluttered open and quickly, she glanced around, scanning the area. Finally, 986's optics rested on the stitchpunk next to her. "W-who are you?" she asked cautiously. 986 had to hold the urge to catalog the stitchpunk next to her, worried that she might freak them out.

A movement caught 28's eye, and she saw the doll's leg move. She shifted so that she was kneeling next to it, observing what would happen next. It's optics blinked open and flickered around until it caught 28 in it's gaze. "Who are you?" A smile coming across her face when the doll spoke, she replied, "I'm 28. I'm a medic." She was more than relieved that the stitchpunk would probably be okay. "I was wandering around and I heard you call out, so I came up help you." She blinked warmly at the doll.

This made 986 smile back. "Thank you....for helping me. I am 986, I have medical and fighting skills..." 986 gently raised herself up, only to feel something missing. Glancing down, she saw where her right hand used to be. "Darned beast!" she grumbled under her breath.

28 put her hand behind 986's back to help support her and keep her from falling back. Her meek smile weakened when 986 saw her missing hand. Sadly, she explained, "I...I'm sorry. The only thing I could do was sew the stump. I-I don't think you'll get your hand back." Wishing she had been more helpful, she let her gaze drop to the ground, feeling put off. "If-if you don't mind m-my asking... what happened?" asked 28 curiously. She felt her naturally shy side coming back now that 986 was conscious.

986 turned to 28 and quickly told her. "It's okay! I know you did your best..." "....What happened?" The question was innocent enough yet 986 was caught slightly off guard. Images of the Skull Beast, the red eye, teeth, claws, all flashed through her memory. 986 sighed and decided to explain the story. "Well, I was out here, looking for items of any kind that I could use sooner or later when a Cat Skull Beast came out of nowhere. Darn beast chased me around until it cornered me. Then it scratched my head and i slid out from underneath it. we started running again, only this time.....it got my hand.....and bit it off. While it dealt with my hand, I landed some attacks on it, then it was able to scratch my leg and waist. By then, I was sure to be doomed.....only when it had me in its mouth, I hacked at some wires, it let go of me, and it sort of....ran off....." Shyly, 986 glanced at the ground before remembering something. "I was able to find this though before the Beast attacked me!" she exclaimed, opening her zipper and pulling out the top part of a snake skull. "I think this could one day be useful..."

Listening to 986's story, 28 frowned at the gory details. She patted her patient's shoulder to comfort her. The injured stitchpunk then pulled a snake skull out of her front compartment, explaining that she picked it up and thought it would be useful. 28 took the skull and looked it over, inspecting the bone. It appeared to be very clean and, even though it was broken, sturdy. Deciding to make a joke to lighten the heavy mood, the medic gave the skull back, saying, "Well... maybe you could use it as a helmet so your head doesn't get hurt again."

986 stared at 28, then at the helmet, then back again. A grin crept onto her face, one that meant that something was going to happen. Cautiously, 986 raised the snake skull until it was over her head before placing it down. Surprisingly, the skull was a perfect fit! "It fits! How convenient!" 986 got out before she started to laugh.

28 watched as 986 took the skull and gingerly placed it on top of her head. It clung snugly but not too tight, making it a perfect fit. She cried out happily, causing 28 to widen her smile and chuckle. "W-wow! I was joking... but it works. In-incredible!" she managed to say. The depressing atmosphere had definitely been lifted.
A gush of air caused the medic to turn her head at the oncoming wind. It was picking up so that her bag started to flutter about and she had to grab onto it to keep it from spilling. In the distance, a small brown spot seemed to grow larger and larger. Laughter subsiding, 28 squinted at the splotch connecting the sky and ground, then widened her optics when she realized what it was. "Oh-Oh! Oh, dear! W-we must get out of here." She jumped to her feet, wrapping her bag across her shoulder so it wouldn't fly away. "Th-there's a sandstorm!"

986 giggled too, the situation was hilarious! When 28 mentioned the sandstorm, she quickly leaped to her feet, hands clutching her skullmet. "Let's go!" she exclaimed, looking for somewhere to hide. She soon caught sight of an abandoned car and pointed it out. "To the car!" she exclaimed and started to sprint towards it.

(Sorry for not replying for a while )28 quickly followed 986, relieved that her temporary patient was able to walk freely again; the small medic would never be able to carry her. The huge cloud of sand was already overtaking them, making it hard to see where they were going. Luckily, the car was big enough that its shape was easily seen when they got near enough. Stumbling over clumps of dust, she slid under the large, broken down car after 986, covering her head with her hands. Shifting from her hands and knees to sitting, 28 looked out at the darkening atmosphere with a worried expression. "I hope this doesn't last long," she said nervously, shaking sand from her medical bag.

Once the two were safely under the car, 986 let out a sigh. "I hope so too..." she quietly replied, watching as the storm of sand raged on. For a short while, all 986 did was dust off her skullmet before her curiosity got the better of her. Focusing on 28, 986 asked shyly. "So, what were you doing out in the Emptiness?"
