- Personality: After she was born and when she was living with her pack, Piper was very outgoing. She was arguably the most adventurous and daring of the three siblings (herself, Konrad, and Camille) and would disappear for days on end, to her parents' distress. She has a strange curiosity for ragdolls and loved to play with them when she could find a friendly one.
As she's grown older she's become more serious, and training gave her a strict dislike of other machines (that didn't include her family, or her mentor Ditrich) and learned to bravely throw herself at one.
When confronted abruptly with things she isn't used to, though, Piper has a tendency to lose her brave face and become a quiet, huddling mass.
- (+) characteristics: friendly, outgoing, playful, attentive
- (-) characteristics: risk-taking, doesn't like change, sometimes blundering
History (waking up): Piper was born the daughter of Angstrom and Feral and sister of Camille and Konrad. Her's and her siblings' bodies were built by a sentient by the name of Brackett. Feral and Angstrom had had a hard time caring for them before their birth, since the had been born a bit late and subsequently drained their parents' energies drastically.
Piper didn't stay around home at all, even from the beginning. Only a few weeks after her birth was her first lone adventure, and she stayed lost for a few days before finding her way back. During her short adventures she met many ragdolls and befriended them, though their interactions were not long.
The small adventures turned into one big one when Piper got herself hopelessly lost. She was found by a wandering lone machine named Ditrich, and he earned himself an annoying little tagalong. The grew attached, though, and pretty much became adopted siblings. Ditrich took Piper under his wing and taught her his ways - the ways of a machine-killer. Piper learned how to trip up machines and use tools other than her claws and teeth to deter and bring down large mechanical enemies.
Piper got separated from Ditrich after a while and ran into Fiddle, who captured her and brought her to the Factory. Faced with something huge that she was scared of (she'd heard stories of the BRAIN from her parents) she crouched in fear before it. However, all the Fabrication Machine did was explain to her the ways of the factory and that she should go and consider his offer. Fiddle accompanied her to make sure she returned, but the little skullbeast gave him the slip.
She stayed lone for a while. The Ferret, a machine of the BRAIN, caught and injected her with one of its leeches and it sucked her soul almost completely dry. By the time someone - Fiddle - had found her, she was almost dead. He took her, in a panic, to the factory, and her soul was put back by the Fabricator's first alchemist, Gerrhron, who was told to give a demonstration of his skills. As soon as her soul was back in place, the BRAIN rewired her as one of his machines.
The little skullbeast Piper has been a happy apprentice of Fiddle's ever since, having been forced to forget her family and her old life.
- History ("then"): Piper was born directly into a sentient life; she was never technically living as a human.
