{SO I TALKED TO ANNELLE and got this all cleared out, though I'd still like to talk to a moderator about Basilisk's size and if that's godmoddish. Otherwise, this is shipshape and ready for review!}
Name: Basilisk
Species: Skull Beast
Implied Gender: Male
Purpose: Hunting, retrieval.
Anomalies: Small, functional arms near the base of its skull, for sewing and writing. The teeth of its skull have also been removed and replaced with metal replicas, making them more suited for combat.
Accessories: If it could count, its body is covered in fabric like a seamstress’s, however Basilisk makes its own personally, of the lovingly removed hides of every dead stitchpunk it’s been left to its own devices with. Bits of numbers, zippers, buttons and such can be found in numerous places. If it takes an injury from a stitchpunk or cloth-covered beast, it will not repair the damage with anything other than its attacker’s skin, out of a combination of pride and a twisted mind.
Weapon(s): Fangs, bladed forelegs.
Appearance: Moving primarily by slithering, this creature is a behemoth, even among machines. It has four spider-like legs made primarily of heavy-duty scissor blades joined to pieces of an umbrella, attached to a minimalistic spine made of heavy-duty bike chains welded around an actual snake's spine. The bone is reinforced with a hinged metal core— more umbrella pieces. Thanks to its great size, Basilisk is very difficult to miss; it leaves very telltale marks of its passing, and unless in a rare stroke of genius it bothers to hide in wait for something, its quarry usually has plenty of time to either run or brace themselves for a tough fight.
Personality: The Basilisk lives and dies for the sake of the hunt. It will never bring prey back alive unless the Fabricator demands it, and seems to revel in the savagery it induces into its victims. Its smaller, functional hands, just below its jaw, it uses for two purposes; the first finger of each is a fountain pen’s nib, to write the names and numbers of any quarry it’s supposed to be hunting on its skull, and then to cross it off when the target is dead or in the hands of the Fabricator. The other use of its hands is sewing, maintaining its macabre little coat with tender loving care. Its crude sentience makes it all the more disturbing, as it will often cheerfully whistle to itself while hunting and spend quality time illustrating the horrible deaths of its prey on walls and other convenient spaces with a wistful look in its optics.
Other Information: The Basilisk is largely the eliminator of deserters and betrayers; those who have left the Factory for good and tried to turn their back on the Fabricator; hence its size, as its intended to hunt rogue machines as well as stitchpunks. Though powerful and fast, its size leaves much to be desired as far as maneuverability goes, and it can rarely fit into any structure designed for stitchpunk entry. Basilisk is both hasty and impatient, often causing it to take more injuries than it would if it had half a mind to stop and evaluate the risks. As it’s so large, it tends to consider itself immortal, which makes it cocky and thus prone to careless behavior and lax security.
However, this macabre construct is not without a heart, if existing in a rather twisted way. Traitors, or smaller Fabricator-loyal machines who spend quality time with it find themselves unofficially adopted as a ‘pet’… and those who harm or attack these ‘pets’, even in self-defense, tend to find their names written on the Basilisk’s skull.
In sharp contrast to its hulking size, its vocabulary is very limited and childish.
