Number/Name:[/b] Feral
Number Placement: n/a
Gender: Technically, Feral is male. He was male as a skullbeast and he contains some of the soul of his mate, Angstrom. However, because the first bit of soul he ever received was from Opossum, a female, he quietly considers himself to be a woman. He never corrects anyone when they call him a he, however, and he will probably never show any interest in feminine activities. The only real sign of Feral’s gender self-identity is that he’s always determined to get his children to call him ‘mom’
Years since Creation: roughly 9 years
Date of Creation: December 19th
Alignment: lone, x-traitor
Height: 9 inches
Fabric: burlap
Metal: iron, copper
Anomalies: Feral doesn’t move very well—he even struggles with trying to walk on all fours. He often loses his balance and falls over, or misjudges the length of his limbs or his physical abilities and gets himself in awkward or dangerous situations. He’s just not used to being in a stitchpunk body at all. He was a skullbeast until very, very recently.
Accessories: Nothing, yet
Abilities: Feral used to be an amazing fighter, but now he’s fairly crippled. His only ability left is he can understand machine speech. He can’t speak it as his new stitchpunk body lacks the ability, and the fact makes him irate.
Weapon(s): At the moment Feral only has a flathead screwdriver for a weapon, which he doesn’t know how to fight with and often uses more for a crutch to keep his balance when he walks. He often attacks in a skullbeast fashion, and remembers too late his lack of teeth and claws
Appearance:
Personality: As a skullbeast working for the Fabrication Machine Feral was proud, stubborn, dominant and focused. He was a high ranking skullbeast, fiercely protective of those he was put in charge of and quietly obedient to those in charge of him.
After he acquired a bit of Katherine’s soul he became wildly angry. He could be set off at anything and became incredibly obsessive and somewhat rebellious. He still kept his pack instincts to protect and care, but it eventually was only directed at Angstrom.
After his finding out he was used by his own Father the Fabrication Machine, Feral felt his understanding of the way the world worked tilt uncomfortably and he found life to be suddenly empty, even with his mate around. He was constantly restless and irritable.
Things calmed when Feral became pregnant with their litter, though it almost killed him. He had a pack to protect again.
After losing most of his children and losing his very body, Feral is now frightened, lost, and hollow inside. He hides it behind a veil of anger, afraid of looking any weaker than he already is. He’s loyal to his mate and doesn’t want to worry him if he can help it.
History, before the apocalypse: Feral was originally just a skullbeast created by the Fabrication Machine. He was captured, however, and taken in by a young boy named Joshua who reprogrammed him to be a pet for the boy’s little sister, Katherine. He was named Spike and was adored by Katherine; she treated him like a real pet and friend and took him everywhere. Feral received with love with great appreciation and learned to love Katherine back as well as a machine made by a machine can. When the family hit hard times Feral took it upon himself to care for Katherine as diligently as when he’d tried to make his original creator happy.
The family had a secret enemy, however: a man that stole Feral away and secretly programmed him to be even more aggressive than he’d originally been. Feral was let back into the house with the purpose of attacking Katherine’s father, but the machine still had an obsession with the little girl, his love twisted into something terrible. He attacked and gutted her. The father discovered him trying to eat her innards and beat him until he was unconscious. When he came to, his body was possessed by the girl’s soul, and he could only watch her struggles as a mute spectator for years, through and after the apocalypse, seething with his programmed hate at how she’d trapped him in his own body.
History, after the apocalypse: Feral eventually was freed when Katherine, by then called Opossum, was switched to a stitchpunk body. He spent a long time obsessing over punishing her again and again in different ways, not realizing through his actions he’d acquired a piece of her soul permanently, giving him emotions and making him slightly unstable.
During his quests against her and his jobs working for the Fabricator he met and began to work with another stitchpunk named Angstrom. He teased the stitchpunk at first, seeing him as just another piece of prey, but as time progressed Feral began to see A as a true member of his factory family and began to actually respect him. As Feral’s obsessions drew him away from his kin and left him isolated and a bit of a wreck, he found Angstrom’s presence a comforting constant.
When Angstrom betrayed the factory Feral risked his own well being to save him. The skullbeast later abandoned the factory himself when he discovered he was being used as an experiment—the Fabricator had been interested in his mental development with his tiny bit of soul affecting him. Feral left the factory and hid away with Angstrom. They tried to start a pack of lone skullbeasts but the plan fell through in the end. The two became mates and had a litter of 3 children: Piper, Camille and Konrad. Piper left and Konrad vanished after a while, which broke Feral’s heart, but he still had Camille and Angstrom.
Recently events took a turn for the worst however when Feral ran into a mentally broken Katherine. In a mix of pity and his old programming he decided to kill her, invoking the wrath of an onlooking Pan and then Chester. The brutal attack from the two skullbeasts nearly ended Angstrom and Feral’s lives, but they were rescued via an emergency transfer into stitchpunk bodies.
Feral now struggles to get used to his new form. With his whole world twisted into something he has no idea how to deal with, only his love for Angstrom keeps him going now.
