"12," the doll had replied.
9000 only nodded. He watched 12 for a while, before concluding that she DEFINITELY was no harm to him. The doll turned his back to her and then sat down on a nearby care tire that just happen to be laying about.
He stared at the ground, before looking up at the sky.

12 stared at Tony quietly for a while before she too looked up. The stars still shone and sparkle through the filthy sky. It was intriguing how they could still shine through all of the muck. She commented quietly. "Beautiful, isn't it? Always made me wonder how they shine through all the filth and gas in this air." She did slightly want the new stitchpunk to reply yet also wondered if he was a talkative type. Wouldn't bug her if he wasn't, but better to have someone who did talk.

It was quiet for a moment. He... He liked that. He liked it when it was quiet. Through half-shut optics, he stared at the stars.
"Beautiful, isn't it? Always made me wonder how they shine through all the filth and gas in this air."
He was quiet for a few seconds before speaking in a mere whisper:
"Yes, they are beautiful."
A light breeze blew by, blowing through 9000's hair. To his displeasure, the wind blew his side bangs to the side, revealing his badly damaged optic. The glass was badly shattered, some shards that had chipped, had fallen off a long time ago... In over all, he could not see through that optic anymore.
He scowled, and then placed his hand on his hair so that it covered his eye again, and held it there for a while until the breeze passed.

12 at first thought that Tony wouldn't say anything in response and continued to stared upwards at the sky. Her mind had wandered as she stared and she almost missed what Tony had whispered. Yes, they are beautiful. 12 smiled slightly, glad that the other stitch replied. As the breeze blew by, she noticed Tony's optic. It was horribly damaged, she was doubtful that it could even work now. She didn't bother saying anything, she was unsure about asking how that happened. 12 just looked up again, saying nothing.

(I'm brain dead. ._. )
Tony's shoulders slump a little as he continued to gaze at the stars. When the breeze had passed, he set his hand down. Both his elbows rested on his knees. The Loner turned his gaze to the dirt. With the tip of his foot, he began to draw shapes and lines that really made no sense.
He carried on with this for a while, before stopping.

12 stayed looking up at the sky for a while, silent as ever. When she did look down she saw Tony doodling in the dirt. She watched as he did this, not saying a word. Her own foot started sketching lightly into the dusty ground, her mind wandering. Her mind was judging whether or not she should say something, but what would she say?

Tony stood up and looked at 12. She was... Copying him? He looked away and huffs. This was... Awkward. The silence, he means. He'd say something, but what? He fumbled around, trying to put together some words to make a decent sentence.
"So... Uh..." he began quietly, "what're...You doing out here? In the Outskirts, I mean?"
Really? He scolded himself. ...That's kinda pathetic. 9000 was never really much of a social person, and it annoyed him when he wasn't able to make a conversation with someone, just to ease up the tense or awkward moment.

12 was thinking about all sorts of things during the silence, such as where she would go for the night, or when she would for that matter. She didn't have the answers for these questions yet but that didn't bother her. She snapped back into reality when Tony started talking again. So... Uh...what're...You doing out here? In the Outskirts, I mean? 12 looked at Tony and replied. "Just wandering around, looking at the stars....what about you?" She asked.

He waited for a response. Hopefully he could be able to have a conversation with her. That is, if he'd get a proper response.
"Just wandering around, looking at the stars....what about you?"
Tony couldn't help but to smile. It was a faint one, barely visible.
"I'm a traveler," he said, "I just go from place to place, I suppose..."
He looks at the ground and then falls silent.

12 looked at Tony and saw that barely visable smile on his face. For a second she wondered if he would say something when he did answer her question. I'm a traveler, I just go from place to place, I suppose...She was silent for a bit before saying. "I tend to travel too, don't really have much else to do..." 12 trailed off. Tony was also quiet so it made her wonder what he was thinking...

"I tend to travel too, don't really have much else to do..."
He only nodded. He blinked and then looked at the sky. The stars twinkled brightly. How could the humans not appreciate something that beautiful? How could they just pollute the sky until you could barely see the stars at all?
A small scowl appeared on his face as he thought about it.

12 looked up after a while, admiring the stars again. Humans were lucky, they had so much beauty and life around them. Yet they didn't appreciate any of it... Now there was barely any of that beauty left. What was left was contaimated to the point it was hardly seen. "They didn't realize what they had..." She muttered quietly after a while, more to herself then to Tony.

(Uh... Mind if I join in with 1971?.. ^^1971 wandered aimlessly around the Outskirts. He was lucky, for he had not encountered a Machine yet. He had not encountered any life, harmful, like a Machine, or friendly, like a Stitchpunk, yet. He gazed around him. " Lonely, isn't it?..." He then asked himself and smiled. Loneliness is good.... His thoughts replied. The atmosphere made 1971 feel even more gloomy; the dim light of the stars that poked out of the dark smoke clouds, the silence. The silence was what bugged him most. He considered it eerie. Shifting his gaze from side to side, looking around again, he took his flute out of his bag. The grin on his face remained and he focused his gaze on the rusty flute; the only thing he had to remind him what his purpose was. " My friend. My beautiful friend." He whispered to it before blowing wind in it, making a high pitched sound. 1971 then placed his fingers neatly on the holes and started playing. Bouree, as performed by Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull, when the world still was.

(I don't mind at all. ) 12 was silent....then, she thought she heard something. A voice? She looked around silently. My friend. My beautiful friendWas that really someone? Or her mind tricking her? There was a high pitched sound. What was that? She thought. Then... Music..... Yes, was there now music playing through the still night air? Turning her head around, she thought she could make out another shape.....no....another stitchpunk! 12 called out, being slightly cautious as she did so. " Is someone else there?"

"Is someone else there?"
The distant voice reached 1971's hearing sensors and he immediately halted playing. Suddenly, a small feeling of fear struck him; he was not used to encounters in a time like this, for he mostly traveled in daytime. 'Safer.' He considered it.
He clenched his flute in his left hand and with the other, he reached for one of the two sewing needles that were placed in his bag. He took it out and held it in front of him.
"Yes." He finally said, hesitating a little. "Yes, there is. I am another Stitchpunk."
Soon though, he regretted stating what he is. He could have easily scared the possible attacker off if he said he was a Traitor. His words though came out almost unconsciously.
"Dearest stranger, are your intentions devious? For I hold a weapon and I will use it if necessary."
