Blinking, 28 looked over at 986. "W-well, actually, I used to live at the Cathedral." She paused, as if remembering the safe haven for all stitchpunks, the beautiful colors of the stained glass windows, the friends waiting around every twist and turn. The Emptiness was much different; big, barren, dangerous, and very lonely. "I left so that I could help heal dolls who needed it. Like you," she said warmly, a little smile emerging on her face.
Turning the tables, the medic queried, "...So, do you live around here?" 28 couldn't possibly think of a place out here where one could build a home, but she supposed it must be possible. After all, many loners and rogues lived out in the barren landscape, somehow getting by.

986 smiled back at 28 and nodded. In response to her question, 986 shyly shook her head. "No, I just come out here to look for items. I lived in the Cathedral for a sort period of time. However, I spend more time out here now than in that cramped place, so I know my way around here."
Then, an idea entered the gray stitchpunk's head. 986 asked quietly, almost embarrassed. "W-would it be okay if......if I tagged along?"

"O-oh! I suppose I should have expected more dolls out here who've been to the Cathedral before... It seems so... b-bland and colorless out here in comparison." She recalled the enormous stained glass windows of the church, always painting the wooden floor and stone walls with it's colors. It was like living inside a rainbow, whereas the Emptiness was more like living in an underground crypt-- dark, cold, gray, and unforgiving.
"Would it be okay if I tagged along?"
28 almost missed the question over the roar of the sandstorm outside. Mouth curled upwards, the medic tilted her head and answered, "But of course! That is, if you don't mind us being a group of 3. I'm traveling with a frien--" she cut off, suddenly thinking of 800 and his pet machine Girl. She had separated from them, and then what with finding 986 she hadn't been able to go back. Oh dear, I hope they're okay! "I was with a friend and we got separated. We'll have to find him," she explained, worried.

986 smiled, she gets to join someone! However she quickly became worried by the fact of 28's friend being separated from her. She nodded in and said, worry floating around in her voice. "I'll help out." After saying this, 986's optics floated outside, watching the raging sandstorm. Creator let us find them.... she though quietly.

Somewhere, surrounded by nothingness, 800 scratched his head and laughed awkwardly.
"Seems like were in a real jam, n'aren't we, Girl?" he rasped out with humor, in hopes of lightening the moment.
While the master tried laughing the situation off, the pet was far from amused. They were lost. They had no idea where they were. This is a disaster! Girl paced around her master, looking around her with paranoia.
Not so long ago, they were with 28, but now, poof! She's gone. Not that Girl thought that the female rag doll had abandoned them, just simply separated.
Coming to a halt, Girl let out a desperate wail. The anima, on the other hand, had decided to take a seat on the sandy ground and draw random patterns on the sand. Staring at her master in disbelief, Girl circled her master once more and let out a questioning growl. This is no time to sit around!
The Rancher turned to his pet and chuckled. His button gaze was slightly off from what he was trying to 'look' at, but that wasn't a big deal.
"There's no point on goin' and prodding aroun', Girl, we might run into trouble," he started seriously, "I'm blind and you're a wuss, when it comes to facing enemies, we're goners."
The last part had silenced the, just-about-to-protest machine. Really? Was this the time and place to bring things like that up? To be a pessimist? They're lost! In the Emptiness! Must he speak like they were doomed?!
Grumbling a little, Girl moved to stand behind her master and grabbed a hold of the back of his flannel shirt and gave it an irritating tug, before letting go and nudging roughly at his back with her plastic skull head. 800 lurched forward a little, and then scowled at his pet, before standing up.
Dusting himself off, he spoke again;
"If we become dinner tonight, I'm blaming you."

28 nodded in despair, wondering how in the Emptiness they were going to find the lost Rancher and his companion. Unless she was the lost one, in which case she felt bad for causing them any trouble. Suddenly a not too loud howl rang out, causing the Medic to jolt her head in the direction of the sound. It didn't sound mean and hungry like a Beast, but rather upset and pathetic, more like a certain scaredy-cat machine. Forgetting that she didn't mention Girl to 986, 28 scrambled to her feet and exclaimed, "That must be them! We could go now before the sandstorm picks up again." For indeed it seemed the air had cleared, if just a little bit.
I'm doing a German exchange program and won't be on too much until September 17; I wouldn't be on at all, except my student is taking a shower xD

986 heard the howl which had caused her to tense up suddenly. When 28 said that it was her companions, she quickly jumped to her feet. Indeed the sandstorm was done, at least for now. Quickly, 986 stuck her head out to make sure that no danger was too close by. "Good idea, let's go." she replied. OCC: okay.

As the machine and doll walked, side by side, 800 began to hum a tune to himself.
Girl's optic fixed on her Master for a brief moment, before looking straight forward. She led the blind doll through the sandstorm, but had no designated location, or place that they were heading.
"Bum-a-rum-hum-hum..." 800 hummed loudly.
The female machine next to him let out a snort of some sort, and only shook her head. Was he not concerned for their safety?
The two continued to walk. Eventually, 800's humming subsided, until he no longer hummed. Sand and dust whisked around them a little as the wind blew over them, but then died down.

Kay, I'm back 28 led the way, clutching her bag at her side and running out from under the car. She headed to where she heard the howl, looking back to make sure 986 was following behind. I hope I didn't go the wrong direction, she thought, slowing down. Scanning the area, the medic frowned at the lack of her friends. A strong gust of wind blew over the two stitchpunks, bringing with it a peculiar noise. It sounded like... humming? Hoping it wasn't something scary, 28 headed towards it carefully until she saw the silhouette of a doll and a small machine. Face lighting up with glee, she said to 986, "That's them!" She ran towards 800 and Girl, waving her free hand and calling, "800!"

986 followed 28 quickly and quietly, scanning around the area. She too heard the sound of humming. Soon, 986 and 28 were close enough to see a silhouette of a stitchpunk and...was that a small machine? That's them! 986 stared at 28 how had started to run off towards to the stitchpunk called 800 and the other thing. Cautiously, 986 followed 28. Is that a machine?she thought fearfully as she ran after 28.

Girl came to a halt, and so did 800. Girl's head turned around as she quietly listened. Just now, she had heard something. She turned her head to another direction as she continued listening. 800 'eye brows' knitted together in concerns.
"What's 'rong girl?" he asked in a hushed tone.
Girl's head shot up at a very familiar, "800!" Slowly, the machine's tail began to wag. She turned her body around, and then took off, yanking 800 along with her. Her actions caused the 800 to stumble, almost trip, and curse at the machine, but she paid no mind, she was too relieved.
800 allowed himself to be dragged for a while, until he realized that he could just let go of Girl's collar. And that he did. But things didn't end too well...
"Urf!"
The wind got knocked out of him as he face-planted, right into the dirt. He laid there, face down for a while, silently cursing at whatever he was blaming for his fall.
While further ahead, Girl managed to make out 28's form. She let out a happy yowl, ran over to the doll, full speed, and then began to prance around the female rag-doll. Though, the tiny machine was too relieved and happy, to notice that someone else was with 28.

986 squinted her optics as she saw a figure coming towards them. Closer and closer soon she saw what was coming,a small machine heading for them. A squeak of alarm left her mouth and 986 backed up rapidly. This machine was...prancing? She watched as the small machine pranced around 28. The small dog-like machine didn't notice her but 986 couldn't help but feel agitated. What if its dangerous? she thought nervously.

28 stopped as Girl bounded towards them, leaping and dancing around her. When 986 stepped back in shock or fright, the medic said, "It's okay, Girl's a friend." Indeed, the machine wasn't doing any harm, just prancing around like a dog with a bone. "H-hey, calm down," she spoke happily, relieved that they were okay. Putting her hand on the machine's head to try and calm it down, she looked back to see where 800 had gone, only to notice him lying facedown in the dust. "O-oh, d-dear!!" She gasped and started running towards him, forgetting about Girl. Upon reaching the downed Rancher, she bent down and shook his arm, saying, "800! H-hey, are you okay?"

Girl halted when she felt 28's hand on her head. Her tail wagged a little, but then slowed down when she ran over to 800. Girl stood there, her optic flickered once, and then twice. She then noticed the other doll to whom 28 had just spoken to. Forgetting about her master in the dirt, she focused on getting familiar with the other rag-doll.
Carefully, Girl approached the doll. Her head was held low, as she looked up at her and then walked around the new face a few times.
"800! H-hey, are you okay?"
800 muffled something and then held up a thumb, indicating that he was fine. Pushing himself up with his arms, he sat on his knees and had a rather daze look. There was a few specks of dust on his blue button eyes, but he wiped them off. He stood up, wobbling a little. He sighed heavily, and then dusted the dirt off his flannel shirt and then tried to feel out for 28. He felt around for a little bit, until he placed his hands on 28 and gave her a light shake, just to make sure that this wasn't an inanimate object that he'd be talking to.
"28!" he said, obviously relieved that he was with someone else besides his pet, "'Thought that we'd lost you lass!"

This machine has a name? 986 thought quietly. She watched 28 run off to help the one called 800. Meanwhile, the machine called Girl walked towards her. The dog like machine was looking up at her with its head low then walking around her. Quietly 986 watched it still unsure of what to make of the machine. This is definitely something I've never seen before....she thought quietly.
