- Personality: Avarice is a greedy little kid. Literally. Avarice is the sin of greed, one of the seven sins put into ragdoll form. He is true to his title, wanting everything and anything, even if he doesn't know what it is.
Not only does he want everything, he tries to convince others to follow in his footsteps. He will try to convince those he meets into stealing to get what they want, or taking it by force - so long as they get it in the end, who cares how they get it? He will support anyone who tries to get something for themselves.
Usually. If something is stolen from him, even by those he was instructing, he changes completely. Normally the perfect personality of a little kid, that disappears under a deadly resentment. Avarice has been known to throw himself at a thief recklessly, eagerly driving his three sets of claws into the other's body. He does this SO eagerly in fact, that oftentimes he won't stop even if he'd already gotten his property back. After this happens he will be a bit quiet and cold, hugging onto his recovered item in solitude, but within a few hours his little kid personality will return.
What Avarice wants most of all are his comrades' skulls. The other sins all wear a skullmet similar to his own, but from different animals. He hasn't acted upon this yet only because he lacks the courage to do so. Despite everything else Avarice is, he has a surprising understanding of loyalty, and though he doesn't count them as friends, they are the closest thing to family he has.
Due to the most recent development, some changes have been applied. Now Mammon instead of Avarice, he is no longer capable of showing much emotion at all. He will often sit alone and silent, only moving if something near him moves. Unfortunately this makes him an easy target for machines (he no longer has the capability of avoiding them, thanks to blindness and the lack of thought to the problem). However, if a ragdoll makes itself known nearby, he will charge them without hesitation and put his entire being into the attempt at capturing them. He transports them (as unwounded as possible) to his new home, which is a hollow electrical pole lined on the inside with glass bottles. These bottles house his collections: some of them hold stitchpunks he's caught, while some are just stuffed to the brim with shiny objects and other items he's hoarded.
- (+) characteristics: boyishly charming, confident, supportive
- (-) characteristics: impressionable, one-track-minded, ignorant
History (waking up): From the moment he awoke, Avarice was in the company of the other vices. His spoilt behavior was rewarded and encouraged, helping him to grow into the sin he is today. Even when the humans died out, he and the others continued to mature with their vices.
When with the group he would oftentimes hang back on the fringes - they weren't his friends, really, only a sort of forced family.
Thanks to certain events, Avarice became possessed by an angry spirit and his soul was shoved into solitude while the other had complete control over his body. He had all the time in the world to relive his past as a human, being locked away with the memories, and as soon as he had his body back again he became more solitary and almost depressed.
After this, he was discovered by an individual who had been an employee of the laboratory where the vices and virtues were created, and was caught.
Through the alchemical skill of this individual, Avarice was, for lack of a better term, "killed". In his place now sits Mammon. Though it is technically the same soul, all emotions were firmly locked behind the mental equivalent of twenty brick walls. His optics were removed and his mouth sewn up. The child no longer sees anything but his goal: owning everyone and everything.
- History ("then"): Theodore was the son of a rich family. Like most kids in this situation, his parents never had much time for him, and he replaced them with possessions. He was spoiled rotten his entire life, and became a very - you guessed it - greedy child.
Not long after Theodore's 13th birthday, his parents were killed in a car accident (rumor said their driver was angry with them for refusing a pay raise). Theodore was taken into child services who tried to find him a home with his relatives; however, he wasn't very well-liked. They all knew how much of a brat he could be and didn't want to deal with such a spoiled child.
Thus, Theodore was given into the care of a society. The promised good tutoring and good care, and for all the family knows, that's what he got.
Instead, Theodore ended up as part of an experiment; the goal was to try and embody a certain strong emotion or personality trait by finding individuals who were strong in that area.
And Greed was born.
