Number/Name: Mortimer / 583
Number Placement: in a little curve-shape on his right hip
Gender: male
Years since Creation: three and a half years
Date of Creation: July 29
Alignment: lone
Height: 5.75"
Fabric: a very light, tan burlap with the exception of his purple polyester patches
Metal: the majority of his body is made of aluminum, but he has polished copper feet
Anomalies: he has many purple patches, each out of exactly the same fabric, and his right optic is cracked
Accessories: none, he'd probably lose any accessories
Abilities: he's a moderately good fighter, and can confuse just about anyone with his odd theories
Weapon(s): he carries a near-custom blade given to him by Nicholas, his employer. Nicknamed Mr. Pointy, the blade goes everywhere with him. He treats it like a friend.
Appearance: Mortimer looks rather average, his tan burlap fabric giving him an unremarkable look at first glance. The second glace doesn't bring any more interest, actually, until one notices just how very many patches there are. His entire left arm is covered in purple fabric, the burlap under it nearly torn to pieces. Up close, Mortimer's cracked optic is noticeable.. leaving one to wonder about what kind of an existence he's had.
Personality: Mortimer is an odd mix of adult and child, probably the product of spending such a long time with the well-spoken Bennet (app soon). He has a childish curiosity and lack of fear about danger, but an adult's grasp of language and (partially) science. Also because of Bennet, he's well-accustomed to being used, especially by those older than him--pretty much all adults--but he doesn't let that bother him. Mortimer doesn't believe in things that aren't or don't seem 'scientific', including alchemy, souls, and ghosts--which is odd as he spent a considerable amount of time with one.
Other Information: He woke up on the ground, in the Emptiness, with absolutely no one to guide him through his life. All he had was his number, 583, and a vague sense that the name Martin might fit him. He began to wander endlessly, without purpose or defense, becoming quite scuffed-up in the process. One day, Mortimer encountered Bennet, who was an angry wandering ghost at the time. Bennet convinced him that nobody wanted or loved him, and offered Mortimer a 'job', a home in a garage, a scalpel as a weapon, a name--Martin just wasn't fitting enough for Bennet--and a position as Bennet's ward. Mortimer accepted, and came to find that the 'job' entailed killing, dismembering, and subsequently sewing back together people. Not knowing this was a bad thing, Mortimer was quite happy to help his guardian with his 'means to an end'. Mortimer did this job until he met Travel, who showed him that randomly killing people was actually a bad thing. Mortimer ran away from Bennet and encountered Noah, who took his weapon only to be followed by Mortimer all the way to his 'secret clubhouse' of sorts. Nicholas hence fired Noah for reasons unknown and hired Mortimer to do Noah's job, finding and destroying weapons. Mortimer hasn't been able to retrieve even one weapon yet.

NOTE: Mortimer is mainly cbox-based. All or most names dropped in his history are also cbox-based. I am a very guilty cbox-roleplayer, mmmyep.
